- Say hello by word, smile or nod. Respond when addressed.
- Say please and thank you.
- Hold a door for a person carrying things.
- Place rubbish in waste baskets.
- Apologize for injuring, or if you interrupt.
- Respond to reasonable rules within a timely fashion.
- Speak fairly of others.
- Stop walking when someone speaks to you.
- Be considerate in dealing with the elderly, the very young, and the disabled. Allow them to pass through doorways first.
- Avoid the use of shocking, annoying or upsetting words or gestures in public and in private.
- Use good table manners befitting age and culture.
- Respect and take care of private and community property.
- Show regard for differences in others, such as height, weight, color, religion, strength, disability, health, psychological makeup, moral code, fears, apprehension, joys, happiness, or tastes. Celebrate diversity!
- Laugh with joy, but not in ridicule.
