Unwind after work:  Every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., lift tickets at Shanty Creek (800-678-4111) are just $5. The mid-week madness continues at Short’s Brewing Company (231-533-6622) in downtown Bellaire (just minutes from the hill) where, on Wednesdays, pints are $1 off when you show the pubtender your Shanty lift ticket. Hat hair and snow pants welcome.

Or just play hooky:  The midweek deal worth faking sick for (just be sure to sniffle convincingly at work the next day) is at Shanty Creek, where daytime lift tickets run just $10 every Wednesday until 5 p.m.
