Holiday Happenings at Boyne
Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain are packed with holiday cheer this time of year.
Folks in northern Michigan don’t have to dream of a white Christmas this year and Northern Michigan resorts are filled with holiday activities. With plenty of snow blanketing the ground and weighing heavy on the trees, the beauty of Up North is the ultimate holiday decoration. And there is no better place to celebrate that beauty—and all the fun activities that go with it-- than at Northern Michigan ski resorts. Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain are two places packed with holiday cheer. MyNorth touched base with Boyne marketing director, Erin Ernst, to get the scoop on all the events planned during week of Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
MyNorth: How are the holidays celebrated at Boyne?
Erin Ernst: There are so many family activities, events, entertainment, etc. offered during the holidays. Sleigh rides, bonfires and s'mores, dog sledding, relaxing in the lounges listening to music and the Aonach Mor Moonlight Dinner at Boyne Highlands. The ziplines (both resorts) and winter horseback trail rides (Boyne Highlands) are new this winter and are sure to become favorites.
MyNorth: Boyne is a family company—how does this spill into the family atmosphere of the holiday week?
Erin Ernst: As a family owned company, we strive to create family traditions that make memories for years to come. That's why we offer diverse attractions and events during the holidays and throughout the season for all ages to enjoy.
MyNorth: With two resorts so close to each other—and both offering different opportunities—how can families make the most of their Boyne experience?
Erin Ernst: Make one resort your home base and plan for a day trip traveling to the other. Lift tickets are interchangeable making it the number one reason to experience both resorts for skiing and snowboarding on one ticket. There are also unique attractions at both of the resorts. Boyne Highlands offers dog sledding, a mountaintop dining experience and winter horseback trail riding. Boyne Mountain boasts Michigan's largest indoor waterpark, Avalanche Bay, and Solace Spa.
MyNorth: For folks not staying on property, are there ways to enjoy the festivities Boyne has to offer?
Erin Ernst: Yes, absolutely. We have a number of special holiday buffets, live entertainment, adventure hunts on the slopes and New Year's Eve celebrations for children, teens and adults topped off by the torchlight parade and fireworks, in addition to the typical activities that make BOYNE a great place to visit for the day, weekend or beyond.
