Christmas Cocktails By Northern Michigan

It gets pretty cold in Northern Michigan. And when the beanies and gloves don't do the trick, we've got other (and tastier) ways to keep warm.

We might throw you a hotlist of holiday happenings all across Northern Michigan, but we also know that a good night-in is a celebration in itself. And since we're celebrating, how's about a drink? Whether you're looking for an evening of elegant elixirs with friends, or drudging down with sweats and Netflix, a well-made cocktail is never out of place. Here's five favorites from the MyNorth mixology team, each brimming with Northern Michigan ingredients and belly-warming comfort.

Vivio's Hot Snickerdoodle Drink

Yep, a cookie and a drink. In one. Two of these are definitely necessary, as both beverage and dessert are needed for a proper winter meal.

Sturgeon Bay Spiced Cider

Anice stars leave sweet notes of black licorice while ginger and orange peel add bright and fragrant freshness.

Inn the Wood's Wolly Mitten Coffee

The mastermind behind this recipe claims "It will warm your hands and your heart." We're sold.

Curly's Eggnog

3 simple steps: 1) Add vanilla vodka to eggnog 2) Serve in 12 ounce glass 3) Drink and be merry.

Walloon Wassail

Wassail! Old English tradition toasts to a bountiful apple harvest with this fruit and cider medley.
