The night I ordered this at Minerva’s bar in Traverse City’s Park Place Hotel, suddenly I felt multiple knowing female glances looking up from the same hazy green martini. “You chose well,” they seemed to say. My new favorite fleeting pleasure is sultry, tropical and strong, made with Stoli Vanilla vodka, Malibu rum, pineapple juice and Hpnotiq (chintzy name; classy blend of premium vodka, tropical juices and Cognac). It’s not just a girlie drink, guys. If you order one, we’ll understand. Cocktail credit to legendary bartender Leigh McKolay at Park Place’s Beacon Lounge on the tenth floor.
