Need some motivation to dust off your dancing shoes? How about free lessons? On a 3,000-square-foot suspended hardwood dance floor? One that's housed in a rustic log cabin? The Up North Big Band provides free dance lessons—basic swing, foxtrot, waltz and latin—the second and fourth Saturday of each month at The Rustic Ballroom, a landmark historic structure in the Village of Walloon Lake. You'll learn enough to dance all evening long, which you can, because post-lesson, The Up North Big Band plays live until 10:30. Bring your own food, beverages and best moves. Smoking not permitted.
