Northern Michigan Events: Chateau Chantal Winery and Inn couples German-influenced French cuisine with their renowned Old Mission Peninsula wines for a very special Valentine's Wine Dinner, February 11th.
Chateau Chantal Winery and Inn has just announced their Valentine’s Wine Dinner, "An Evening in Alsace," Saturday, February 11th. Fall in love with Northern Michigan this year as you spend the evening enjoying Chef Les Hagaman's cuisine and sipping Chateau Chantal's Old Mission Peninsula-produced wines, all set to the breathtaking backdrop of Grand Traverse Bay.
Guests can begin their "Evening in Alsace" with an optional tour of Chateau Chantal Winery at 6:00pm, before sitting down to a dinner prepared by Chef Les Hagaman, owner of neighboring B&B, Tesoro Inn. Chateau Chantal will pair their Old Mission wines with a five-course menu featuring cuisine from Alsace, France's eastern most region where German influences prevail not only in the food, but in wine styles as well.
Alsace and Northern Michigan share a similar grape growing climate and style, and as such are both known for their Riesling, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris. The chef-designed menu and Chateau Chantal’s Old Mission wines provide the perfect accompaniment to one another. Guests will enjoy Artichoke Gratin, Alsatian Cabbage Soup, Filet Mignon, Apple & Gorgonzola Salad, and a Pear and Almond Tart, all paired with Chateau Chantal's Northern Michigan wines.
Set in the winery’s hardwood floored Hospitality Room with stunning views of East and West Grand Traverse Bay, guests will enjoy a friendly atmosphere while learning about the art of food and wine pairing. Dinner begins at 6:30, and is $75 per person (inludes tax, gratuity and wine). Reservations are required and can be made by calling 1-800-969-4009, or by purchasing online at www.chateauchantal.com. Chateau Chantal Winery and Inn is located on M-37, 12 miles north of Traverse City on Old Mission Peninsula.
