Take a free, guided hike this Sunday at the Grass River Natural Area in Bellaire. The walk will take you down the natural area’s Glacial Plain Trail to an open meadow to observe bluebird houses that are part of a national monitoring project. Hikers will have the opportunity to check the houses for evidence of bluebirds and help their guide clean up those that have become home to other residents.

Meet at 11 a.m. in the parking lot next to the Rail Trail, a quarter of a mile from the natural area’s Alden Highway entrance, and allow one and a half to two hours for the hike. Bluebird walks are held every Sunday through August 9.

For more information, call the Grass River Natural Area at 231-533-8314.
