Brave the Elements With Style

Look cool, be cozy in a down-filled winter skirt.

File this one under “Why didn’t I think of that?”

Toronto native Vivian George, inspired by 20 years of enduring the elements while working on film sets, has created the world’s first snow skirt. George’s Toast skirts are long and full, with a Teflon-treated outer shell, multiple channels filled with 100 percent goose down, and—because nobody likes “numb bum”—a special pocket positioned at the lower back to hold disposable heat packs.

Devotees (male and female) wear these black beauties over jeans or leggings, swearing the skirts are city-chic and cozy. At nearly $400 a pop, we say the skirts better be both, and mightily so.
