Northern Michigan Wine: Chateau Chantal, Tasters Guild Winery of the Year, continues to add to Traverse City's growing reputation as a foodie haven by combining local food and wine into amazing food experiences.
Chateau Chantal begins their summer hours early this year. Starting Friday, May 25th, Chateau Chantal will be open 11am-8pm Monday – Saturday and 11am-6pm Sunday. Now serving wine by the glass and Michigan cheeses, plus their new “Terrace Tapas” mini food and wine pairing experience from the largest outdoor Wine Patio in the area.
This summer Chateau Chantal is offering daily Tapas Tours beginning June 15, and running through Labor Day. Tours convene at 12:30 p.m., and last two hours. On the tour, groups will be lead through the vineyard by an experienced guide, who will take you through the intricacies of wine and food pairing, imparting lots of winemaking knowledge to make selecting the appropriate vintage easy. Later, enjoy tapas-style small plates paired with Chateau Chantal wine. As tours are never more than 25 guests, you can always expect a warm and personal atmosphere.

The Jeff Haas Trio kicks off their 19th summer season of Jazz at Sunset Thursday, June 21 7:00-9:30. This free live concert is offered every Thursday through August 30.
Chateau Chantal is expanding the number of offered Wine Dinners, which begin with an optional tour of the winery at 6p.m., followed by dinner seating at 6:30. "Dinner" is really a 7 course gourmet experience, prepared by local chef, Perry Harmon. Each of the seven courses is perfectly paired with a Chateau Chantal wine.
