Old Mission Peninsula. Deep, bright, vibrant tawny fuchsia – cheerful to behold. The varietal cues of Cabernet Franc come across clearly in the nose– green notes, but not unripe, and integrated with red and dark fruits. On the palate the texture is full and silky. There’s cherry jam, ripe red watermelon, and juicy strawberry with pleasing green herbal accents framed with round tannins and balancing acidity. The finish is long, clean and refreshing. The ideal partner for grilled or roasted veggies of all kinds, eggplant parmesan, as well as green pesto treatments of light protein such as salmon, veal, or game birds.
Pale yellow straw with heavy look in glass. Nose = Ripe pears, chalky minerals and lemon curd brulee. Palate = Silky, medium full, and delicious with rich touch of sur lie and more luscious ripe pear and golden apple. Long fruit and mineral finish. Very Burgundian. Cries for classic white Burgundy pairings of pike mousseline, sautéed scallops in delicate citrus cream, lobster thermidore, or rich chicken terrine with no sweet sauces.
