Old Mission Peninsula. Appearance = Pale bright, greenish gold. Nose = Nectarine, tangerine, apricot and peach with dusty stone. A crisp, dry palate that has minerality with delicate mango overlay on green apple. Finish is long and mouthwatering. Very much a food wine. Serve with sushi and sashimi, with ginger and sesame influence. Also try with fresh basil pesto pastas.
Leelanau Peninsula. A pretty, bright, unevolved rosy pink in the glass, with a light floral apple blossom nose. Friendly strawberry-rhubarb flavors with a tantalizing off-dry note of strawberry-banana now and then. An expressive palate is not necessarily varietal, but refreshing and enjoyably balanced. This is a universal aperitif wine for use with chic, upscale apps like charcuterie, terrines, even foie gras nibbles.
