2011 Ultimate Up North Kitchen Tour: Old Mission Peninsula Renovation

Ultimate Up North Kitchen Tour: When Northern Michigan ER doctor Rich Faller came to Traverse City's Kitchen Choreography seeking kitchen triage (blue laminate countertops, dark cabinets and a Brady Bunch-era spindle separating the kitchen from the breakfast area!) Goodall knew she could help. Traverse City kitchen designers went to work, incorporating Faller’s wish list of stone countertops, lighter colored cabinetry and new appliances. The end result is an airy, efficient space that features a combination of marshmallow cream and stained cherry cabinetry, cumaru (Brazilian teak) flooring, Cambria countertops in two colors, double ovens, extra-wide refrigerator and an in-island beverage center. The spindle rail is gone, as are the standalone table and chairs. In their place is a built-in banquette outfitted with stunning transitional fabric. Call the operation successful. Proof was in the Christmas cookies that Faller made last year in his new kitchen for, among others, the staff at Kitchen Choreography.
