Northern Michigan Events: A new holiday shopping event at Black Star Farms in Leelanau County will offer a variety of unique gift ideas and opportunities for holiday shoppers while benefiting the Fishtown Preservation Society this weekend.
Stroll, Shop & Sip: Vintage Cottage Holiday Market will take place this Saturday, November 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay. The event will feature over 30 unique antique, artisan and agriculture merchants from around the region showcasing a variety of wares, including collectibles, signed books, paintings and handcrafted items. Black Star Farms will also offer special holiday designated bottles of their Red House Wine at the event and through the holiday season; $2 from each bottle will benefit the Fishtown Preservation Society. There is no admittance fee for the event, which will also feature a strolling luncheon, wine tastings, sweet table and appetizers.
The Fishtown Preservation Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and maintaining the historic site of Fishtown. “We are very excited for this event, as it’s a new fundraising opportunity for us,” said Meg Murphy of the Fishtown Preservation Society. “This is the first Vintage Cottage Holiday Market, and we hope to make it an annual event. 77 cents of every dollar raised for the Fishtown Preservation Society is devoted directly to preservation efforts.”
Black Star Farms is located at 10844 E. Revold Road (off M-22), just south of Suttons Bay. To learn more about the event, call 231-256-2103 or visit fishtownmi.org.
