Northern Michigan News: Solace Spa at Boyne Mountain has been named a winner of the prestigious 2012 Category Award for Best for Outdoor Adventure by SpaFinder Wellness’ 10th annual Readers’ Choice Awards. This recognition is earned by the top ten spas voted by spa-goers across the globe.
The 2012 SpaFinder Wellness Readers’ Choice Awards once again tallied a record amount of votes. As such, the awards provide the most comprehensive consumer assessment of the global spa market identifying spa-goers’ favorite spas by continent, country/region and across 27 categories, including Best for Outdoor Adventure.
Solace Spa at Boyne Mountain was the only spa in the Midwest to earn this Category Award. Other esteemed spas making the Best for Outdoor Adventure list include Life in Balance Spa at Miraval, AZ, The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort Hotel, British Columbia and The Sagestone Spa & Salon at Red Mountain Resort, UT.
“Working your way to the top of a spa category with this level of competition is nothing short of an extraordinary feat,” noted Susie Ellis, president of SpaFinder Wellness, Inc. “This award salutes the hard work of Solace Spa’s owners and staff who achieved this honor together by delivering the highest level of services for every client.”
Solace Spa is a 19,500 square foot destination spa offering 18 treatment rooms and a wide range of services including Petoskey Hot Stone, Zen Trilogy with bamboo massage, Lavender Fields, life enrichment programming and personal training. Solace Spa’s relaxed and luxurious surroundings feature soothing whirlpools, cedar saunas, purifying steam rooms, indoor/outdoor pool, state-of-the-art fitness facilities and a beautifully appointed salon.
“Guests of Solace Spa are inspired to use the outdoor amenities as much as our indoor facilities,” said Sean Handler, Boyne's Michigan director of spas. “Spa guests have access to 5,000 acres of natural and pristine surroundings in which to enjoy healthy and active recreations like outdoor yoga, hiking and mountain biking, kayaking and snowshoeing. There are also a number of adventure weekends throughout the year including fall color tours, winter rafting, mountaintop watercolor painting and more.”
SpaFinder Wellness connects those seeking a healthier, happier lifestyle with wellness providers worldwide. The Readers’ Choice Awards are based on votes submitted worldwide at SpaFinder Wellness’ global consumer websites, including SpaFinder.com, and by readers of SpaFinder Wellness digital publications. Voters were asked to cast ballots only for stay and day spas they’ve personally visited within the past three years.
