Hearing Solutions of Northwest Michigan, an audiology practice owned by Dr. Kathleen Sawhill and Dr. Sandy Leahy, offers complete hearing evaluations, hearing aid services, assistive listening devices and custom hearing protection.

Our practice is run exclusively by doctors of audiology. We are a small practice with a personal touch. The intimate setting allows us to spend more time with our patients and ensures that all of their questions are answered. We have flexible office hours, a convenient location and easy parking.

Hearing aid technology has improved immensely in recent years. Today’s digital hearing aids look and sound different. Some of the newer, more popular products are called “open-fit” hearing aids. These devices allow the ear canal to remain partially open and the device itself to be worn discreetly behind the ear. This allows for more natural sound and feeling.

These advantages make the thought of wearing hearing aids much more appealing to those who may have been putting it off for years.

Another recent advancement in technology is the ability to wirelessly connect the user’s hearing aids to their cell phone, TV, or ipod/mp3 player via bluetooth technology. This feature allows the user to hear the caller directly into both hearing aids without ever having to pick up the phone. This technology is particularly appealing in today’s “hands free” world.

Some of our patients say that our front door should also say “marriage counselors”. Improving lives and relationships through better hearing is something we find very rewarding.
