With three boys and a penchant for cooking for crowds, the Bailey family of Old Mission Peninsula asked National Kitchen and Bath Designer Deb Mahon to help design a prep kitchen off their formal kitchen. The upshot is a commercial-grade prep room equipped with stainless steel counters, double-door refrigerator, range and a three-compartment sink. “It’s the workhorse kitchen,” says Mahon. Now the owners can chop, roast and roll out dough, then finish off the dishes in the formal kitchen—leaving the dirty pots and pants to deal with after the party.
