Northern Michigan: A new partnership between Blackbird Arts, Glenn Wolff and Wings of Wonder will result in a special opportunity for the artistically intrigued. Blackbird Arts, an independant arts education center located in Traverse City, will offer two half-day workshops for the public, hosted by two Northern Michigan artists, Glenn Wolff and Rebecca Lessard from Wings of Wonder.
The first workshop will be held October 6, 1:00-4:00 p.m. and is geared toward families with an adult and child 6+ years. Glenn Wolff will lead participants in sketching exercises designed to help them become comfortable and knowledgeable drawing live birds.
The second workshop is October 13, 1:00-4:00 p.m. and is for adults only. Rebecca Lessard from Wings of Wonder will be hosting this second part of the workshop where she will discuss conservation and ecology with a focus on the raptors and will have several of her birds accompany her. Participants will learn about their habitats, rehabilitation, and conservation and will have the chance to sketch live raptors up-close.
The October 6th workshop costs $49 for adults and $30 for children 6+ with an adult. The October 13th adults only workshop is $65 per participant. Please register early as space is limited online at blackbirdartstc.com or by calling (231) 421-8085.
