Northern Michigan Events: On October 10-13, 2012, Interlochen Center for the Arts in Northern Michigan will host a symposium to explore the changing world of the arts. The conference, "Information, Space and Time: The Arts, Creativity and Learning in the 21st Century," will feature Pulitzer Prize winners, New York Times bestsellers, Grammy Award winners, futurists, live performances and more.
The full conference is open to the public for a registration fee. But for those who can’t attend the entire conference and would still like to catch some of the speakers, Interlochen has announced a Symposium Keynote Package.
The package includes the opening keynote presentation from Sheryl Connelly on October 10th; the performance of "These Young Men and Women" from Jack Ferver and the Interlochen Arts Academy Theatre Co. on October 10th; Andrea Gibson's performance on October 11th; the Q&A with Tony Kushner (hosted by Jeff Kimpton and Bill Church) on October 12th; and the closing performance by ETHEL on October 13th. Tickets for this package are $150 and can be purchased at tickets.interlochen.org.

Together, attendees, speakers and presenters will explore a range of perspectives on the future of the arts including: Teaching and Learning In the Arts; Arts and the Environment; Leadership In the Arts; The Future of the Ensemble; The Future of the Book; and more.
Peer-to-peer discussion groups will stimulate unscripted dialogue, while workshops and creative sessions will provide roll-up-your-sleeves, immersive forums and roundtables. And all of this will be topped off with live performances throughout the conference.
