Traverse City

Traverse City is nestled at the base of two stunning bays of Lake Michigan divided into East and West by the Old Mission Peninsula. Traverse City is the largest city in Northern Michigan, whose population in the 2000 census was listed as 14,532, with the greater Grand Traverse region estimated at 142,075. The city attracts visitors from around the world for its beaches, vibrant downtown, array of restaurants, golf, biking, boating, paddling and skiing, as well as waterfront hotels. Traverse City is home to Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival, the National Cherry Festival, the Winter WonderFest, North American VASA and is a short distance from the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the Interlochen Center for the Arts.
