Bullfrog Light Company, located in Charlevoix, creates gorgeous table displays using one-of-a-kind candles that glow from the inside out and are entirely made in Michigan.
In this Made In Northern Michigan Series, Bullfrog Light Co., owned by Bill and Betsy Stewart, demonstrates how beautiful table settings can be when they are designed around candles. These displays feature Bullfrog's one-of-a-kind candles that literally glow from the inside out.
No one in the Stewart family could have known that when Bill Stewart helped his kids out with a candle-making school project in 1981 it would result in a life-long passion for Bill and Betsy, and the founding of the Bullfrog Light Co.
Bill went on from the school project to experiment with candle-making, eventually creating a "secret" candle glow that is attributed to using the highest quality paraffin wax and "just a little magic." Bullfrog candles are offered in many designs, shapes and textures and every one is characterized by a beautiful, inner glow.
Bullfrog Light Co. was named for the noisy bullfrogs at the adjacent Shiawassee Flats Game Refuge in Saginaw where the Stewards started the company. In 1985, the Stewarts moved Bullfrog to Charlevoix where each candle is hand-crafted from start to finish.
Candles for every occasion and color palette are available, as are custom candles, personalized for gift-giving, fundraising or advertising.
