Enjoy the spectacular landscape and views of the 2.7 mile Pyramid Point trail, part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The trail wanders through three diverse landscapes including maple-beech forest, high bluffs and meadow. At about 0.6 miles from the trailhead you will reach a spectacular bluff looking out over Lake Michigan and South and North Manitou Islands. The National Park Service asks that you not run down the face of the bluff not only for your own safety but to protect the ecosystem of the bluff.
The trail includes several steep hills and ends on Basch Road, a quiet dirt road that may have a little traffic. Explore the length of this trail if you can and you will be rewarded with gorgeous views, large sand bowls to wander, meadows of wildflowers and shaded, leafy forests. If you can't get to Pyramid Point, this video is definitely the next best thing.
