Back in the 1990’s Brian Vander Ark and his band The Verve Pipe sold more than 3 million albums worldwide and produced a string of hit singles including the hit "The Freshmen." Brian Vander Ark was the band’s literal and figurative voice, providing the creative spark and writing songs that gave the band its devoted following. Although the songs were cast in the style of the era, they remain singular and special. His gift is one of tremendous storytelling clarity expressed through melodies and rhythms that are unique, riveting, intensely personal and entirely gripping.
While Verve Pipe continues, Vander Ark has proven that he is more than just the front man for the band releasing three solo albums in 2003, 2006 and 2008. Vander Ark brings his casual, alt rock style to the InsideOut Gallery on Friday, April 16 at 8pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. They are available online or at Borders Books, Oryana, The Warehouse Lounge, Cuppa Joe at Building 50 and InsideOut Gallery.
