Bon Appetit Loves Traverse City

Those of us who love Up North already know that Traverse City has become a foodie’s playground, but the folks at Bon Appétit just let the rest of America know it too, as they announced that Traverse was one of five runner up top food town destinations in the country—just behind Boulder, Colorado.

The magazine scoured the country for a small-town feel, great farmers markets, first-rate restaurants and chefs that should be called “food artisans.” Traverse City topped the list thanks to restaurants like Tattoria Stella and hot spots like Black Star Farms.  Of course, having famous chefs like Mario Batali bragging about the area, and being known for boasting the world’s best everything cherry helped tip the food editors over the edge.
