Northern Michigan Design Businesses Support Breast Cancer Month

Northern Michigan Living: In celebration of National Kitchen and Bath Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, both taking place in October, the front window of the Lake Street Design Studio in Petoskey has gone pink! The window display features a kitchen vignette with a bright pink BlueStar range and other fun pink accessories all month long.

In addition to looking pretty in pink, the designers of the Lake Street Design Studio will be collecting donations to support the McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation Kathleen Jontz Breast Health Fund, which provides life-saving mammograms and biopsies to those unable to afford them, as well as to support breast health educational programs in our communities. Shoppers visiting the store will also have the opportunity to be entered into a drawing to win a gift basket of pink kitchen goodies and cutting boards, courtesy of Michigan Maple Block.

To encourage support of the Kathleen Jontz Breast Health Fund, Designs by Dawn and Renee Guthrie Designs of the Lake Street Design Studio will match customer donations up to $2,000. Stop into the showroom to check out their window and show your support today!

The “Star” of Lake Street Design Studio's window is the bright pink BlueStar range. BlueStar ranges are made by hand in Reading, PA of commercial grade stainless steel for a restaurant-quality cooking experience. There are a variety of burner configuration options and 190 colors available to allow customization of each range to suit any cook or kitchen’s decor.

The window display also features Marshmallow Cream Cabinetry with pullout basket storage by StarMark Cabinetry. StarMark cabinets come with a lifetime warranty. Topping these cabinets are beautiful Walnut tops by Michigan Maple Block. Handcrafted in Petoskey, MI, butcher block tops are available in several wood species, including Maple, Cherry, Lyptus, Oak, Walnut, Ash, and Teak.
