With recent daytime and nighttime temperatures fluctuating above and below the freezing point, the ice on West Grand Traverse Bay has been slowly smoothing into a mirror-like sheen. The steady winds and glassy ice set the stage for area ice boaters to set their sails for a screaming ride across the bay. MyNorth videographer Kris Riley bundled up and filmed the ice boating adventure, and he also caught up with the frosty daredevils at the helms of these lightweight crafts.
