On Wednesday, April 9th, take a trip back to the 1940’s with a concert presentation by three boogie-woogie virtuosos at Dennos Museum in Traverse City.

Axel Zwingenberger headlines the show; the native of Germany is among the most talented boogie-woogie pianists worldwide.  He’ll be joined on stage by blues vocalist Lila Ammons of Minneapolis and Michigan’s own Mr. B.

Boogie-woogie is a musical style that rose to prominence in the 1930’s and 40’s.  The genre was originally an offshoot of blues in the American South, but the style’s identifiable musical idioms were soon incorporated into jazz and country music.

Tickets purchased online start at $24, and $30 at the door.
