On Saturday, July 19th, take part in a spectacular Northern Michigan event celebrating music, food, wine and the natural beauty of Leelanau and Old Mission. The Traverse Symphony Orchestra will headline the concert event held on the expansive lawn at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City, with opening acts The Accidentals and ‘Satchmo’, a Louis Armstrong tribute band, playing before the orchestra. Local foods will be paired with wine made at Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsula wineries, and over-sized prints from local photographers and artists will be for sale in a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting the Traverse Symphony Orchestra.

What to Expect
The unique outdoor venue of Grand Traverse Commons paired with an especially massive tent provided by Traverse City-based Tent Venue will give attendees an unparalleled opportunity to experience the Traverse Symphony Orchestra. While you listen, nibble on locally sourced foods and meander across the lawns to sip on wines produced in Leelanau County and Old Mission Peninsula. Both peninsulas will be outlined on the Commons’ campus: wine stands will be placed geographically upon the Commons lawn, so when seen from above (along with the position of the stage) the grounds will represent Leelanau County, West Grand Traverse Bay, and Old Mission Peninsula.

Another aspect of the event is the silent auction that will be held in two lighthouse galleries found on the lawns. Works available for auction will include large (approximately 2’x3′) prints from photographer Mark Lindsay in addition to pieces by other local photographers and artists; the prints will be placed throughout two outlined peninsulas at locations corresponding to where the photographs were captured. All proceeds will directly benefit the TSO.
