Tis’ the season to be scared silly in Northern Michigan. The list below is a compilation of some of the best places around Northern Michigan to get your scare on this Halloween season! Attendees should note that most of these activities have kid friendly elements, but some are too intense for younger audiences.

Haunted Forest at Crystal Mountain
Saturdays, October 18 & 24 from 7–10 p.m.
Brave the haunted forest… if you dare. Warm yourself by the fire as the chill of distant screams fill the air. Tiptoe down the haunted trail, where frights lurk at every turn. Cost is $8 for ages 9 and up and free for ages 8 and under (but not recommended. Tickets can be purchased at the Park at Water’s Edge.
Screams in The Dark in Traverse City

Terrified of the Grimfell Asylum? Maybe stray from this option. This year for a new experience try “Delirium.” It doesn’t disappoint if you are looking for an adrenaline rush! This is not a recommended adventure for littler ones, as it can get pretty intense. Learn more here.

Manistee’s Ghost Ship
Friday and Saturday nights in October beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Spooky Performances
Screening of the Original Phantom of the Opera at the Music House Museum
Saturday, October 18 at 5:30 or 7:30 p.m.
The original screening of Phantom of the Opera is pretty creepy…. The Music House Museum presents the 1925 horror classic ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ featuring Lon Chaney Sr. as the deformed Phantom who haunts the Paris Opera House, causing murder and mayhem in an attempt to make the woman he loves a star. The film will be accompanied by Andrew Rogers on the ‘Mighty’ Wurlitzer theater organ. Rogers, a Detroit native, is an organist at the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor and the Detroit Fox. Buried Child in Ludington
