1. A Very Rare-y Christmas at Rare Bird Brewpub in Traverse City, Saturday, December 20 from noon—10 pm

Rare Bird Brewpub and Create TC have teamed up to throw “A Very Rare-y Christmas” which will be held on Saturday, December 20 at Rare Bird Brewpub. The festivities begin at noon in the back parking lot in downtown Traverse City. There will be live music from the Crane Wives and other musical acts, as well as a wide variety of Christmas cocktails and beer, including warm Glühwein and Egg Nog. Don’t miss out on a s’more station, corn hole, a hot dog/brat bar and much more!

2. Enjoy Winter Break!

If you have kids in Northern Michigan schools today marks the last day before winter break. But, lucky for you, we’ve compiled a list of daily activities so that boredom isn’t even a possibility during their time off!

 

3. A Christmas Story at Ludington Area Center for the Arts in Ludington, Friday—Sunday

With Lakeside Civic Players, WSCC Performing Arts presents the celebrated “A Christmas Story” by humorist Jean Shepherd. The classic holiday play is a memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s and follows 9 year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest for a genuine Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. GREAT holiday family entertainment!

 

4. Tis the Season… Songs & Stories of Christmas at the Old Art Building in Leland, Saturday, December 20 at 7 pm

Tis the Season… Songs & Stories of Christmas created by Susan Oliver and Norm Wheeler, will be performed Saturday, December 20 beginning at 7 pm. The original holiday production will take place at the Old Art Building in Leland and is presented by the Leelanau Community Cultural Center. Enjoy six Christmas tales, from heartwarming to humorous!

 

5. The Nutcracker Ballet at the Ramsdell Theatre in Manistee, Friday—Sunday

Approximately 175 dancers, production staff, and volunteers from Manistee, Mason, and Benzie counties take part in preparing and presenting this classic Christmas production at the Ramsdell Theatre.
