Although flowers might not be blooming outside quite yet, the first day of spring has officially passed in Northern Michigan so we are counting it as spring! This season give your wardrobe a facelift and shed the down coats, scarves and fuzzy gloves and incorporate these outfit ideas from five stores in Northern Michigan into your life (hint, layers are your friend!) We included ideas for kids, ladies and some gentlemanly fashion advice as well, so this spring everyone can be stylish!

Relish in Traverse City

Located in the Warehouse District, Relish has lots of freshly picked spring items on the shelves. The outfit below is more “subtle spring.” A denim cropped shirt paired with the maxi skirt is playful, but acknowledges that spring days aren’t always the warmest. The maxi skirts fun floral pattern is an ode to a fresh season, but the muted tones aren’t overbearing.

Ella’s in Traverse City

Ladies listen up! The first outfit pictured is an ode to the ’70s says Ella’s Sales Manager Kara. “We love this look because it’s a modern twist on the 70’s. The 70’s are everywhere this spring/summer season. Layering is essential for Michigan weather so a great jean jacket can be paired with everything.”

For all those stylish gents, the second outfit pictured is perfect for a guy who is looking to be on trend for spring. Sal, also an Ella’s Sales Manager says, “this is the trend for the season: red colors, denim shirts, striped henley shirts and to spice it up a cool trendy boot by Frye.”

V2V (Vintage to Vogue) in Petoskey

Located in downtown Petoskey, “vintage to vogue” is a great store to seek out apparel, home products, accessories and beauty products. For this particular outfit the blue colors of spring are at play! The patterned cardigan and skirt pair well together and the darker blues and lighter blues really pop on the cardi. It’s a perfect Northern Michigan outfit that combines playfulness and practicality (the longer skirt and cardigan can help cut out some chilly spring breezes!)  IMG_1087Nic + Zoe outfit
