PETOSKEY: Camp Daggett invites the public to participate in wonderful events this spring and summer, supporting scholarships for youth at camp and in the Adventure Center.

Calling all mothers, grandmothers and stepmothers! You are invited to bring your daughters (ages 7-17) for a fun-filled Mother and Daughter weekend, May 1-3, at Camp Daggett. Cost is $150 for mother/daughter, plus $50 for each additional daughter. Space is limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants can expect a weekend of fun and adventure as they try their hand at crafts and outdoor activities and enjoy dinners in front of the lodge fireplace. For additional information or to register, contact Julie Guirey at 231.347.9742.

The public is invited to Grandpa Shorter’s Gifts, 301 E. Lake Street in Petoskey, on Saturday, May 16 from 9am to 7pm for a shopping day to benefit Camp Daggett. Twenty percent of all purchases will go to the C.G. and Ruth Shorter Memorial Scholarship Fund at Camp Daggett.

On Thursday, June 4, Camp Daggett will host its 12th Annual Camp Daggett Golf Benefit at Walloon Lake Country Club. Participants will enjoy 18 holes of golf at Walloon Lake Country Club. Lunch will be provided on the veranda overlooking beautiful Walloon Lake. Following a round of golf, there will be a reception on the porch, a delicious dinner and a silent and live auction of premium items.

Kayaking enthusiasts are invited to participate in the annual Kayak for a Cause on Walloon Lake, a fundraising event for the Camp Daggett Adventure Center (CDAC), Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19 from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Beginners and advanced adult kayakers will paddle the 30 miles along the beautiful Walloon Lake shoreline and raise much-needed dollars for scholarships for children to attend Camp Daggett Adventure Center programs. There is a one-day and two-day option.

Every activity raises essential scholarship dollars for area youth for camp and adventure center programs at Camp Daggett. For more information, call 231.347.9742 or visit www.campdaggett.com.
