INTERLOCHEN: Joshua Davis’ Homecoming Concert featuring Joshua Davis and his band will be held at Interlochen Center for the Arts on Thursday, August 13 at 8 p.m., and on August 25 The Piano Guys will make their Interlochen debut. Tickets for both acts will go on sale on Friday, May 29 at 9 a.m. The fastest and easiest way to get tickets is online at tickets.interlochen.org.

“As a frequent guest artist working with our singer-songwriter students, and a faculty member of the Interlochen College of Creative Arts, we are thrilled to welcome Joshua Davis home on August 13 in Kresge Auditorium,” said Christopher Gruits, Executive Director of Interlochen Presents. “We are also excited to announce that YouTube sensations, The Piano Guys, will make their first Interlochen appearance on August 25.”

Traverse City’s Joshua Davis is a singer-songwriter raised in the folk tradition, and he writes songs that blend the roots of American music with gritty rock n’ roll and vintage soul. For over 15 years, Davis has made his living sharing his songs, stories and knowledge across the US and Canada at festivals, concert halls, coffeehouses and dives – as a solo act, front man for roots ensemble “Steppin’ In It”, classic swing band “Shout Sister Shout”, songwriter showcase band “The Starlight Six” and frequently as a workshop facilitator, presenter or instructor. A professional musician for more than 15 years, Davis was recently featured as a Top 3 contestant on NBC’s “The Voice” where he, among other accolades, sang duets with Adam Levine and nine-time Grammy award winner Sheryl Crow. He will appear in his official homecoming concert at Kresge Auditorium on August 13 at 8 p.m.

Joshua Davis will also be teaching two classes at the Interlochen College of Creative Arts this summer: Beginning Mandolin on July 15 and a Singer-Songwriter workshop on August 28-29. Registration is still available for both classes, and is available online by visiting college.interlochen.org.

Hailing from Utah, The Piano Guys became an internet sensation by way of their immensely successful series of strikingly original self-made music videos. They’ve made over 35 since joining forces in early 2011. Members include musicians Jon Schmidt (piano), Steven Sharp Nelson (cello) and “equally significant members” Paul Anderson and Al van der Beek. They have been seen on programs from The Today Show to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. So far, their smash videos have netted more than 293 million views on YouTube and earn more than a half-million new views daily. Among their videos, The Piano Guys released an innovative, 10-handed version of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” and a “Mission: Impossible” spy thriller featuring violinist Lindsey Stirling. Their self-titled album features more of the music they’re famous for and includes sources ranging from Mozart to Michael Jackson. They will appear at Kresge Auditorium on August 25 at 8 p.m.
