Jazz vocalist Janice Keegan, a shining star in the Traverse City music world and beyond, will perform at the Dennos Museum Center in Traverse City. Keegan’s CD release concert will take place on Saturday, October 10 from 8 to 10 pm. It will feature songs from her new album, Firedance, which includes music and lyrics referencing poignant vignettes from her personal journey.

Keegan’s music has an eclectic mix of styles, tempos and subject matter, with many pieces influenced by her explorations in jazz and blues. Her melodic and dynamic range, expressive phrasing and sensuous sound, coupled with her band’s artistry and energy, will make this a colorful and evocative Traverse City music event.

Keegan’s band features Steve Stargardt on piano, Laurie Sears on saxophones and flute, Jack Dryden on bass, David Collini on drums, Crispin Campbell on cello, Glenn Floering on trumpet and Joe Wilson on dobro guitar. Heather Kingham and Mary Sue Wilkinson sing background vocals.
