July 15-17: Kaleva Days. This family celebration includes the Finnish Line 5K Walk/Run, Wife Carrying Contest, car and tractor show, food, music, games, parade, craft show, euchre tournament, bake sales, beer tent and more. 231.398.9355. kalevami.com.

July 16: Leelanau Peninsula Wine on the Water Festival. Enjoy tastes from 10 Leelanau wineries, a distillery, and brewery as well as delicious food from 6 Leelanau restaurants. Listen to live music from Bugs Beddow and the Good Stuff and The Jackie Treehorns featuring Jeff Bihlman. Pre-purchased tickets are available for $15. Tickets purchased at the gate are $20. July 16-23: 86th Annual Venetian Festival. A week-long flurry of color and pageantry that highlights the summer season and attracts tens of thousands of visitors. The Festival offers a wonderful variety of events geared to delight and entertain every age group. Most events take place within waterfront parks, Round Lake Harbor and Lake Charlevoix.
