In early 2017, before the final petal falls from the enchanted rose, Beauty will once again fall in love with the Beast on the big screen. Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Disney’s original animation film, Traverse City Central High School’s Music Department will bring their rendition of the classic Beauty and the Beast tale to the stage.

The cast has spent their summer months practicing and memorizing their lines and songs, and started rehearsals once classes began in September. The students have been working to make the production flawless, even with some of the trickier effects, so be sure to keep a look out for some very special effects including the falling rose petals and the Beast’s transformation to the prince.

For those that can’t get enough of the magic, be sure to attend Tea with Mrs. Pots after the November 13 matinee show only. Mrs. Pots will be hosting the tea party complete with desserts and will be joined by several others characters from the performance. Once the dining portion of the party has ended, there will be a tour through the stage and the castle set pieces.

The high school’s production will provide a glimpse of what is to come with the March 2017 movie premiere featuring Emma Watson (as Beauty), Dan Stevens (as the Beast) and Luke Evans (as Gaston).

Performances will take place at the TCCHS Auditorium on:
November 11 at 7 p.m.
November 12 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
November 13 at 2 p.m.
November 18 at 7 p.m.
November 19 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
November 20 at 2 p.m.
