BELLAIRE: As we near the heart of the season, it’s time to embrace winter, the snow and celebrate the fun that comes with it at Shanty Creek Resorts. Grab the skis, snowboard or fat bike, and get outside! Feeling a little too rusty to hit the slopes? Take advantage of Super Sunday where just $25 gets a lift ticket, rental equipment and a lesson.

More of a spectator? Mark the calendar to cheer on hundreds as they race across Antrim County during the White Pine Stampede, Michigan’s longest and oldest cross country ski race, February 4.

Stay for the weekend and experience a new, one-of-a-kind Michigan event, King of the Hill. Event participants will not only ski down the slopes, but climb up as well in this new event. Both King and Queen of the hill will be awarded in several age groups.

February also offers a variety of fun-filled activities for the entire family to enjoy. Check out the following upcoming events and specials:

January 31–February 3: Special Olympics
More than 900 Special Olympics Michigan athletes participate in winter activities during the Michigan Special Olympics Winter Games on the slopes of Shanty Creek’s Schuss Mountain, among other destinations. Spectators are welcome!

February 4: White Pine Stampede
Hundreds will compete in Michigan’s longest and oldest point-to-point cross country ski race that stretches over the hills and through the woods of Antrim County while raising funds for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

February 5: King of the Hill
Take part in the inaugural uphill/downhill race at Shanty Creek Resorts. This one-of-a-kind Michigan race where participants can choose any non-motorized, non-wheeled winter gear to travel both uphill and downhill sections of the course. Snowshoes, alpine, XC, telemark or randonee skis and bindings, snowboards, climbing skins are all permitted. All ages and abilities welcome.

February 18–20: Presidents Weekend
Head to Shanty Creek Resorts to enjoy the holiday weekend. Book the Presidents’ Day Weekend Ski Package that includes lodging in a Lakeview Hotel guest room, breakfast, a superticket lift ticket and complimentary skiing night of arrival (based on slope hours)—starting at $183 per person, based on double occupancy. February 25–26: Michigan Fat Bike Racing Series Finals
The 2017 Specialized FatBoy/Hellga/Michigan Fat Bike Racing Series Final Race takes place at Shanty Creek’s Cedar River Village. Presented by Vee Tire Co, and hosted by Short’s Brewing Company and Paddles & Pedals.

February 5, 12, & 26: Super Sunday
Learn to ski or snowboard this season at Shanty Creek Resorts. Hit the slopes on a Super Sunday and get a lift ticket, rental equipment and lesson for just $25. Open to all ages.
