Leelanau Cellars’ three new canned wines are hitting the Great Lakes market this week—and we are already thinking of all the places it can go.

Riding the wave of a successful launch of bubbly in bottles last year (Great Lakes Red Bubbly as the surprise fan-fave), Leelanau Cellars is now producing bubbly in a can. Bonus: It’s made right here in Northern Michigan.

Canned Wines to Drink This Season …

The canning facility is just a few miles around the bend from their gorgeously laidback Omena Tasting Room and it’s abuzz with what feels like Willy Wonka-type energy. The line produces 1,800 dewy, ice-cold cans of bubbly an hour. Cans are filled, topped, washed, dried and packed at a sweetly mesmerizing—almost intoxicating—pace.

We seriously could watch all day…

But that would be missing the point. Northern Michigan summer is finally here, and there are boats to float, trails to blaze and beaches to laze upon. Leelanau Cellars canned wine is the perfect match for NoMi’s propensity for balancing fun in the great outdoors with an effervescent adult beverage straight from the cooler.

(Beachgoers bonus: Carry in, carry out and no glass to break!)

Cans of bubbly in three varieties—Winter White Bubbly, Great Lakes Red Bubbly and the brand-new Summer Sunset Rosé Bubbly—are available right now on Leelanau Cellars’ website, and will be at major retailers this week. (Follow Leelanau Cellars on social and check the wine locator for a retailer near you.)

The 375ML cans are sold as singles in stores, so mix, match and find your go-to. What to pair with them? Best to take the advice on the cans. (Yep, two cans equal one 750ML bottle and, hey, it’s wine in a can, don’t overthink it.) Pull the tab and release the fresh, unpretentious bubbly vibes. Can’t wait to try that Summer Sunset Rosé Bubbly around a campfire with a hot dog…
