Camp Daggett offers campers, ages 13-15, an exciting opportunity to challenge themselves and learn new skills in a wilderness setting. Our four wilderness adventure trips offer training in self-confidence, communication and teamwork, in some of Michigan’s most beautiful areas. The four trips vary in location and difficulty and each will focus on “Leave No Trace” back-country ethics, basic survival skills and the general history and ecology of the area.

DISCOVERY 2019 – Backpacking Pigeon River State Forest – June 23-29, 2019:
On this exciting backpacking expedition, campers will live and learn the basics of wilderness travel and camping while exercising sound, noninvasive, minimum impact techniques. Our journey goes through the heart of the Pigeon River Country State Forest along the Shingle Mill Pathway for a duration of four days and three nights. With over 100,000 acres to explore, the Pigeon River Country provides plenty to see from rolling hills, to meandering rivers, hardwood forests, pristine spring-fed lakes, and 100-foot-deep sinkholes. In addition to the countless natural features, this wilderness is home to numerous native species, including deer, bobcat, black bear, eagles and elk. Be prepared to hike, swim, explore and witness the beauty of a true “wild area.”
