EAT PIE. FUND LOCAL EDUCATION. EVERYBODY WINS.
The Leelanau Montessori Forever Foundation is raising funds for Leelanau Montessori Public School Academy through their 2nd Annual Homemade Pie sales!
Last year the event was a smashing success and sold almost 350 pies and crusts. This year the foundation anticipates selling even more pies given that the word has gotten out about how amazing these holiday treats are! All pies will be lovingly handmade by Montessori families with local produce. This is truly a community wide effort! Both local families and businesses have stepped up to make this fundraiser a success and as profitable as possible.
Local sponsors and donors include:
Shady Trails Camp
Dan Scott Builders
Lord & Lady Construction
Cherry Bay Orchards
Leelanau Peninsula Maple Sugar Bush
Second Spring Farm
Birch Point Farm
The Business Helper
Wil-Do Home Inspections
Hillside Feed & Supply
All Pies are $20 each. Pie Crust Rounds are $5 and come two rounds to every one order. All orders must be paid at the time of the order. You can order with any Leelanau Montessori student or online at the school’s website. Pre-orders must be submitted to the school by Tuesday, November 13th at the latest. There will also be a street sale on Tuesday, November 20th in front of the Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay from 3-5:30pm (or until we sell out), for those to miss the pre-sale. Every pie purchase helps our school grow and thrive in Leelanau County. Proceeds from the Homemade Pie sales will go directly to the Leelanau Montessori program.
The Montessori is in the midst of renovations of their new campus in Lake Leelanau and plan to resume classes after winter break at their new home! Their new school will allow them to meet the unique needs of the Montessori philosophy for children aged 1.5 months – 6th grades (and soon 7th & 8th!). The school has been in operation since 1984 but this is the first time they have owned their own campus. Leelanau Montessori is eager to continuing to provide a free Montessori option in the community for children in their new home in the heart of Leelanau County.
