EVENT: HANDS-ON FAMILY ACTIVITIES

AGE GROUP: PRESCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY-AGED

5 to One Playgroup – Free!
5to1 is a program put on by our partners at the Great Start Collaborative at various sites around the Grand Traverse Region. GLCM’s playgroup meets on July 10 from 9am to 11am for active play, parent networking & education, and snacks and activities. The playgroup meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.

Weekly Programs taking place at the Great Lakes Children’s Museum —
GLCM offers programs every weekday in the summer months. Here are this week’s programs:

Monday 7/8, 1pm-3pm: Maker Space – Make and create to accomplish a task or objective!
Bottle Top Art: Make something marvelous using recycled bottle and jar lids.

Tuesday 7/9, 11am-12pm: Get Crafty – Tuesdays are all about arts and crafts!
Watermelon Sun Catcher: Make a sun catcher that looks good enough to eat!

Wednesday 7/10, 11am – 1pm: Summer STEAM – Each day is about one of the parts of S.T.E.A.M.
T is for Technology! What do hot dogs, Mars Rovers, and Legos have in common? They can help you understand computer coding!

Thursday 7/11, 11am – 12pm: InterActive Storytime – A children’s book and a hands-on activity!
Herschel Takes Flight, by Rob Ford: This book was printed in Michigan and is a lively and appealing children’s book about a hawk who needs glasses. It includes iconic sights of Michigan.

Friday 7/12, 10am – 12pm: Discover With Me – activities that promote toddler education & development!
Push Me, Pull Me: push and pull toys for toddlers build motor skills.
