This class gives paddlers the fundamentals for paddling all types of kayaks in a fun and safe way. Students will learn essential safety skills and strokes. You will have the opportunity to learn how to “wet exit” (get out of your kayak safely). You’ll learn a bit about what kayaks work best for what conditions and other paddling best practices. This class is great for beginners but anyone who has never received formal instruction will benefit.
Course Covers: Safety gear, boat design/fit, forward stroke, reverse stroke, stopping, turning, sweep stroke, draw stroke, wet exit/self-rescue, and assisted rescue/T-rescue.
