M22 Art2Art Tour
October 11, 12 & 13, 2019

Leelanau County

The second year for this exciting, multi-venue art tour will explode with color and beauty! Paintings. Sculpture. Furniture. Ceramics. Fiber Art. Five Venues featuring Award-winning Artists, all along scenic M22 in Leelanau County.

The M22Art Tour follows M-22, circling the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula with stops in Glen Arbor, Cleveland Township/Bohemian Road, Leland and Northport. In addition to the five art venues, there are numerous restaurants, wineries and small shops along the way.

The event is sponsored by the Suttons Bay Art Festival committee, a non-profit organization who brings us the very successful summer art fair in Suttons Bay every year…and who also abides by a generous mission to donate back to the regional community funds to help support and expand the regional art market.

A perfect fall get-away in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.

THE VENUES:

GLEN ARBOR TOWNSHIP HALL: PAINTING and 2D ART
Luscious landscapes, compelling still lifes, thoughtful abstractions and elegant figures will grace these walls. You will find everything from modern to classic, including work by Angela Saxon, Kaye Krapohl, Royce Deans, Margo Burian, Jeff Condon, Anne Corlett, Doug Hoagg, Martha Eldridge and more.
6394 Western Ave, Glen Arbor, MI 49636

––––––––––––

GLEN ARBOR ARTS CENTER: FIBER
Fiber Without Borders: an exhibit and sale of 2D and 3D work by regional artists exploring fiber materials in fresh, original ways.
6031 S Lake, Glen Arbor, MI 49636

––––––––––––

CLEVELAND TOWNSHIP HALL: CERAMICS
An eclectic mix from Phil Wilsons contemporary porcelain to Julie Kradel’s stoneware animal sculptures. Matt McGovern’s soda-fired functional pottery and Stephen Kostyshyn’s mixed-media woven and clay vessels. From tiles to teapots and everything in between.
955 E Harbor Hwy, Cedar, MI 49621
(M22 is also called Harbor Hwy, this venue is on M22 at Bohemian Road/CR 669)

––––––––––––

NORTHPORT ART ASSOCIATION GALLERY: FURNITURE and SCULPTURE
Featuring many makers from Northern Michigan: Terroir Wood Studios of Boyne City are makers of fine wood furniture using native woods with just a hint of rustic flavor; Fred Rehak uniquely repurposes industrial machinery as beautiful, functional home decor; sculptor Dewey Blocksma enters a sculptural object with a functional use; Sleeping Bear Twig Furniture will present willow and applied birch bark pieces intrinsic to the rustic style of the upper Great Lakes; and Leland’s Jason Rollings will be there with furniture made from salvaged materials, work which often elicits those “wow, I never imagined using that that way” comments. All furniture makers are able to customize pieces to fit your specifications.
301 Mill St, Northport, MI 49670

––––––––––––

OLD ART BUILDING: FIBER FESTIVAL
An exhibition and sale of original fiber art including wearable art, textiles, weaving, art quilts, fiber sculpture, knits and yarns. In their 19th year this exhibit emphasizes a renewed enthusiasm for the fiber arts, offering inspiration in seeing the ways traditional handcrafts have profoundly connected human beings; through art and the act of making.
111 S Main St, Leland, MI 49654
