Shady Lane Cellars is kicking off celebrations for its 20th anniversary year by uncorking two brand new wines this month. The 2017 Gruner Veltliner and 2016 Cabernet Franc Reserve will launch on June 22, 2019 during the annual Shady Lane Cellars’ Wine Club Dinner. “The Gruner Veltliner is a member favorite and a great summer wine,” said Rick DeBlasio, general manager at Shady Lane Cellars. “The Cabernet Franc is expected to be a real crowd pleaser too; it’s an elegant and sophisticated wine.”
The best way to try these wines? Join the Shady Lane Cellars Wine Club and attend the dinner at the winery this weekend. The event will feature hors oeuvres from 4-7 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $45 per person for the event. For those far from the Leelanau Peninsula, the Gruner Veltliner will be distributed throughout Michigan by Woodbury Wine, of Troy, Mich. The only way to try the Cabernet Franc is to visit the Shady Lane Cellars tasting room on or after June 22.
Located at 9580 E. Shady Lane in Suttons Bay, Michigan, Shady Lane Cellars produces one of the largest percentages of estate-grown wine in its region.
