Jimmy Schmidt’s Artisan BBQ Smoke & Spice Exploration! Back by popular demand- Jimmy returns Wednesday, July 17 for a very special food event. More than a pop up dinner, this is food theater. 5 appetizers and 5 entrees, paired with local wine, beer or spirits. A lively demonstration and fun interaction with this amazing chef!

Artisan BBQ Smoke & Spice Exploration!

Special Guest Chef – Jimmy Schmidt returns to make more magic in the Willowbrook Mill kitchen. His menu will delight your senses as he serves up Lucky’s Noble world’s best Waygu beef, grilled oysters and a host of amazing appetizers, entree courses and dessert; each paired with the perfect wine, beer or spirits from our favorite Michigan wineries, breweries and distilleries.
This isn’t your regular old PopUp meal. This is food theater. Jimmy teaches while he works and the theater style setting lets dining guests watch close up and talk to the chef as he creates food art right before their eyes.
A few of the menu items were enjoyed by attendees at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas last fall when Jimmy joined the James Beard Celebrity Chefs tour with the likes of Jeremiah Tower, Mary Sue Milliken, Andrew Friedman and Larry Forgione.

Respect, Taste & Nutrition
“My simple inspiration is to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the bounty of nature. Seasonal ingredients captured at their peak of flavor and nutrition, in contrasting and accentuating collisions of flavors inspire the senses to nourish both mind and body and engrave warm memories for years to come. “We are what we eat”, may reflect more than mere physical properties alone. The simultaneous energizing of all our senses of vision, smell, touch, hearing, taste and umami may be a direct path to our soul and inner well being. Cooking applies my unique perspective of nature’s flavor, biological and nutritional components to elevate the taste and align the nutrition to a delicious nourishing harmony.” Jimmy Schmidt

*BENEFITING FOOD RESCUE OF NORTHWEST MICHIGAN

If you know us (the Heberlein family) from the Lansing area, you know our involvement with the Greater Lansing Food Bank and the Empty Plate Dinner. Now that we are shifting our world north, to the Grand Traverse area, we are finding ways to help out right here, in our new back yard. In this spirit, part of our ticket proceeds will go directly to Food Rescue of Northwestern Michigan!

No one explains this critical service better than them… “

“No one should ever have to choose between paying a utility bill and eating healthy food. In the 5-county area, Food Rescue picks up an average of 6,500 pounds of nutritious food and delivers it same day and free of charge to 50 area pantries and meal sites. Food waste and hunger are simultaneously reduced through the efforts of Food Rescue thanks to the generosity of many donors. We have rescued more than 10 million pounds of food since our founding 10 years ago and more importantly, provided nutrient dense food to tens of thousands of visitors to area pantries each year. “
