The Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum in Northport is looking for keepers for their 2016 season. The volunteer program is a week-long commitment which includes helping with admissions to the lighthouse and fog signal building, running the gift shop, grounds work, and other projects.
Keepers get to live in the assistant keeper quarters of the lighthouse which adjoin the museum. Quarters include four single beds, one and a half bathrooms, a full kitchen and living room. Keepers help preserve the lighthouse, which was built in 1858, and share with visitors the beauty and enchantment of the Leelanau Peninsula.
