Petoskey

Located 70 miles north of Traverse City on Lake Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay, Petoskey is Northern Michigan’s second largest city and a Northern Michigan travel destination for more than a century. Filled with Northern Michigan hotels as well as Northern Michigan attractions from its boutique-filled Historic Gaslight District to a marina on Lake Michigan, Petoskey is a favorite Great Lakes travel destination. The ferry to Mackinac Island is just 50 miles away, and the charming resort enclaves of Harbor Springs, Bay Harbor and Bay View are even closer. Ernest Hemingway summered on nearby Walloon Lake as a boy and lived and wrote in Petoskey as a young man. The Lake Michigan city’s proximity to the Boyne USA ski resorts and Nub’s Nob Ski Area make it a four-seasons vacation spot.
