Thousands of Movies, TV Shows, Music, and Audiobooks for Mobile or Online Viewing

TRAVERSE CITY: The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) is excited to announce the availability of a service that digitally provides more than 250,000 music albums, movies, soundtracks, television shows and audiobooks, all available for mobile and online access through a new partnership with Hoopla Digital (stylized as hoopla). All you need to do is live in the TADL district and have a valid library card. The service has even been dubbed “Netflix for Libraries.”

“We’ve already received some great feedback from our patrons,” said Jill Porter, TADL assistant director for public service. “Adding hoopla to our growing collection of digital offerings is yet another effort to improve access and add value for our patrons.”

To get started, eligible TADL cardholders may download the free Hoopla Digital mobile app on their Android or IOS device or visit hoopladigital.com. Hoopla Digital has a simple sign-up: patrons will be prompted to enter their email address, a password, and their library card number. The easy-to-use interface helps them to quickly begin enjoying thousands of titles from major Hollywood studios, record companies and publishers — for instant streaming or temporary downloading to their smartphones, tablets and computers. And there’s no waiting to borrow popular movies, TV shows, albums or audiobooks.

Patrons are able to borrow up to 10 hoopla selections per month with their TADL cards. Movies and television shows are available on patrons’ devices for three days after check out. Music is available for seven days. Audiobooks are available for 21 days. To learn more about this exciting new offering, please go to www.tadl.org/hoopladigital.
