Love local cider? How about Northern Michigan’s fall colors? Head to Traverse City October 14–21 for the annual Traverse City Cider Week presented by the Michigan Cider Association (MCA) and enjoy peak colors in the Traverse area.

The big event of the week, the second annual Cider and Sausage Salon is set for Sunday, October 15 from 1–5 p.m. at Timber Ridge Resort. The Cider and Sausage Salon will feature live entertainment, locally made sausages and Michigan’s premiere ciders and cider makers. Cozy up next to the firepits, watch the Lions play on the big screen and get ready to compete in your favorite outdoor games.

“By separating from TC Beer Week and moving to a new venue, this is going to be a perfect fall event,” says Jennifer Zelinski. “We already have seven sausage makers signed up for the event—we will likely have more signing up as the word gets out! Our goal is to bring the community together to enjoy an evening of entertainment, food and good cider!”

Tickets to the Cider and Sausage Salon are available at MyNorthTickets.com for $30 in advance and $35 at the door.

NEW this year, Cider Week Orchard Tours and Cider Tasting. This event will be held October 21 from 1–4 p.m. at the Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Center. There will be wagon tours of the cider blocks at the research center with a cider tasting afterward.

“We want to encourage the public to get out into the orchards to see where the start of cider begins. The event will include orchard tour rides, information on cider fruit, cider apple tastings, and a cider tasting that will feature key styles of cider,” Jennifer says.

Tickets are available at MyNorthTickets.com for $25 a person.
